The dance bug bit Rohan at a very early age. He grew up dancing in his Pittsburgh community and took his fiery passion to the tundra of Syracuse, New York. At Syrcause University, Rohan led a number of South Asian dance teams.

Rohan graduated from Syracuse University’s Public Relations program in 2009. After a series of PR, writing and marketing gigs, he found a home at Doonya as the Client Relations & Marketing Manager. After looking at several different spaces where he could get a fix for his dance addiction, Rohan fell in love with the energy, instruction style and focus on fitness that Doonya offers students.

A member of Doonya’s faculty since 2010, Rohan is known for his innovative choreography, his graceful yet powerful movements, and for radiating a positive energy that will have you smiling through even the most grueling conditioning intervals.

Rohan quickly emerged as one of Doonya’s most popular instructors, known for making his classes as exhilarating and festive as much as they are a full body workout that will leave every muscle aching—and leaving everybody aching for more.

Named Doonya’s “most valuable dancer” in 2012, Rohan teaches the entire spectrum of Doonya’s curriculum, from our tots to adults Beginner Techniques, Choreography, and of course Doonya, our signature popular Bollywood workout. He impressed Doonya co-founders Priya and Kajal so much that they hired Rohan as their first full-time staffer!

Stylistically, Rohan loves anything high-energy. His background in Bhangra and Gujarati folk dance inform his rustic Bollywood style that is peppered with hip hop flair. But don’t let his thunderous Bhangra taps fool you, his Bolly-hips can keep up with most item girls.

In addition to his work at Doonya, Rohan choreographed and appeared in the Planned Parenthood Bollywood video that aired on The Daily Show and the Rachel Maddow Show. He also choreographed and led the South Asian Lesbian & Gay Association in the annual New York City Pride Parade. He has handled press for the South Asians in Media, Marketing & Entertainment Association, the first and largest professional association of South Asian executives, professionals and thought leaders in the worlds of media, entertainment and marketing, and some of the biggest South Asian names in the entertainment industry.

Rohan can be seen on Doonya’s Today Show segment as well as our DVD!
